HOPE AT NOVATION ACADEMY OPENS AS NEW DROP-IN
HIGH SCHOOL LEARNING SITE IN WESTMINSTER
DENVER, CO – August XX, 2024 – HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op today announced that a new learning site, HOPE at Novation Academy, is now open and currently enrolling high school students for the 2024-25 school year. Novation Academy serves as a Learning Center at 9051 Harlan Street in Westminster. HOPE curriculum is online, allowing students to connect with teachers from anywhere with an internet connection, and Novation Academy is where students can come for extra assistance, meet with mentors, or engage with peers. “We offer a variety of options that make it fun for students to spend time here," said Jamie Pander, Site Director of HOPE at Novation Academy. “I have years of home- schooling experience that translates well to providing a space that feels like home but with the benefits of in-person support from qualified teachers, peer interaction, amazing mentors, and experiential opportunities." At HOPE, personalization is key. Each site director, mentor, and teacher work with students to build a plan that allows them to take online classes but also access in-person educational support, professional mentors, and experiential opportunities. HOPE provides two pathways to graduation, CORE24 and Workforce Readiness, allowing each student to prepare for the future in the best way possible. Students or guardians can enroll online (www.hopeonline.org) or call (720) 990-7427 for more information. HOPE has learning sites around Colorado, providing blended education for kids in 6th through 12th grade. Novation Academy is focused on students in grades 9-12 but can refer students in grades 6-8 to other local sites. For more than 20 years, HOPE has been a pioneer in online and hybrid education, long before the pandemic shifted the education landscape. HOPE provides a safe, caring space for students in 6 th -12 th grade that don't fit into a traditional school model. For example, it often serves kids who may be over-age and under-credit (not at grade level), need to work to support their families, or help their parents with childcare.
“There are a lot of families who want a flexible, caring environment with leaders who help students realize their potential,” added Heather O’Mara, founder and CEO of HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op. “The team at Novation Academy is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and ready for an incredible school year.” HOPE at Novation Academy also supports students who have faced school or legal issues, are bilingual or new to the country and haven’t settled in yet, or simply didn’t thrive in their local school. HOPE balances the need for quality education with flexibility and solid guidance to see struggling or nontraditional students through to graduation. "Between the pandemic’s impact on education, societal pressures, and varied family
structures, there are many reasons why people want educational alternatives,” concluded Pander. “Many families find it extremely helpful that we work closely with students who need or want to also hold a job. If you believe it takes a village to raise a family and you want the ‘little red schoolhouse’ experience with modern technology, contact us today.” About HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op provides Colorado students in grades 6-12 an education that includes individualized lessons paired with in-person support from experienced teachers and mentors.
