HOPE AT PINNACLE ACADEMY OPENS ITS DOORS AS
NEW DROP-IN LEARNING SITE IN COLORADO SPRINGS
DENVER, CO – August 1, 2024 – HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op today announced that a new learning site, HOPE at Pinnacle Academy, is now open and currently enrolling students for fall. Pinnacle Academy serves as a drop-in site at 4858 Northpark Drive in Colorado Springs. HOPE curriculum is online, allowing students to learn anywhere with an internet connection, and Pinnacle Academy is where students can come for extra assistance, meet with mentors, or engage with peers.
Pinnacle Academy is unique in that its director, Jacquelynn (Jackie) Black, is the Youth National Team Coach for USA Weightlifting. She is an international level coach that works with kids and athletes of all levels. Many students who attend HOPE at Pinnacle Academy are actively involved in weightlifting, powerlifting, and sports performance. In addition to a flexible schedule conducive to workouts and practice hours, students also have access to coaches and trainers in the facility.
"We have grown to be a welcoming community for athletes who require a different schedule than a traditional school day," said Black, site director of HOPE at Pinnacle Academy. "We are a perfect option for students who have a busy schedule, often balancing school, work, and sports, and we are flexible around their needs."
At HOPE, personalization is key. Each site director, mentor, and teacher work with students to build a plan that allows them to take online classes but also access in-person educational support, professional mentors, and experiential opportunities. HOPE provides two pathways to graduation, CORE24 and Workforce Readiness, allowing each student to prepare for the future in the best way possible.
Students or guardians can enroll online (www.hopeonline.org) or call (719) 440-6151 for more information. HOPE has learning sites around Colorado, providing blended education for kids in 6th through 12th grade.
For more than 20 years, HOPE has been a pioneer in online and hybrid education, long before the pandemic shifted the education landscape. HOPE provides a safe, caring space for students in 6th-12th grade that don't fit into a traditional school model.
“Jackie and her team offer something very special, capitalizing on their knowledge of the time commitments involved with competitive athletics,” added Heather O’Mara, founder and CEO of HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op. “Together, we are committed to helping students achieve great things in school and beyond.”
HOPE at Pinnacle Academy also supports students who have faced school or legal issues, are bilingual or new to the country and haven’t settled in yet, or simply didn’t thrive in their local school. HOPE balances the need for quality education with flexibility and solid guidance to see struggling or nontraditional students through to graduation.
“Our growth is indicative that we’re effectively meeting the needs of students who value their education in addition to other endeavors,” concluded Black. “Collectively, with parents, teachers, mentors, local businesses and others, we are committed helping kids and young adults grow into happy, successful members of our community.”
